About Maintenance & Operations

  • The Facilities, Maintenance & Operations Department of the Salinas City Elementary School District is led by Darrell Daniels, Director, and provides essential services to support the mission of educating our students. The team strives to maintain the building grounds and the physical infrastructure in a cost-effective manner and at the highest possible standards of safety, cleanliness, and functionality, ensuring the best possible learning environment for students and staff. 

  • The Maintenance Department is pleased to announce the following construction projects for Summer 2023:

    • Lincoln Elementary - Student Restroom Modernization has been awarded to Dilbeck & Sons.  The project begins June 12th with estimated completion in 5 months. UPDATE: We're in the final stages of completion! 
    • Main Sewer Replacement - Awarded to The Trenchless Company. - COMPLETED!
    • Mission Park Elementary - Primary Play Structure Replacement has been awarded to Park Associates (Park Planet) and begins in July. - COMPLETED!
    • Loma Vista Elementary - Portable Classroom Removal: Several portable classrooms were damaged in the winter storms. COMPLETED!
    • Boronda Meadows, Laurel Wood, Kammann, Monterey Park and Natividad Schools - Shade Structure Installation were awarded to Park Associates (Park Planet). COMPLETED!

  • FUTURE PROJECTS:

    • Loma Vista Elementary - Multi-Purpose Room & Kitchen Building Project, Modular Classroom Installation, Existing MPR Conversion to UPK Classrooms. 
    • UPK/TK Play Structure Installation
    • Shade Structure Installation at El Gabilan, Lincoln, Loma Vista, Mission Park, Roosevelt, Sherwood and University Park. SUMMER 2024!
    • Roofing Project at Kammann, Los Padres and Natividad. SUMMER 2024!
